After Our Wedding
It’s a little over a week after mine and Nick’s wonderful wedding! We truly had an amazing time with everyone. And I almost finished all of the ideas I had for it! I didn’t end up having time to figure out the wall of flyers of us as if we’re a rock band having a show for “one night only!” But I did design 7 different posters of us and printed out a few. I also finished designing the seating chart and table numbers with our pictures, finished the signs I was painting, and finished painting the little statues of Louie and Minnie for sitting next to the pet treats. And a couple days before the wedding my friend found dog and cat cake toppers so I painted those to look like Louie and Minnie, too! I finished painting my converse and, of course, my friend and I finished my dress! Although it was mostly her finishing it; I had a lot of other wedding stuff to do and she is so amazing and kind! Everyone loved the wedding and everything I made! We had some untraditional parts to our ceremony, but everyone loved the whole thing! A lot of people dressed in fun, vintage outfits like we suggested. The weather was beautiful outside for the ceremony! And the reception venue looked stunning! I told Nick as we were dancing that I was going to remember the place as a spinning blur of pretty fairy-lights!
But enough about the wedding. This is supposed to be an art blog, after all! Although I do still have a lot going on aside from all the art I want to make. One of the biggest things is finding a new job, now that I’m (thankfully) officially DONE with working at a public school! Yay! I’m applying to pretty much anything, but I’m looking closer to where we’re looking to move. Which is another thing: we’re going to move soon. Nick’s taking the lead on looking for places, so I don’t need to worry about that too much. But we do need to organize things, like all the wedding stuff, and a lot of our things that have been disorganized since we last moved. We also need to write all the thank you notes for everything we got for our wedding! But I’ve still started 8 different small magnet paintings! Which are the works-in-progress that I’m showing here.
I have so many ideas for all the art I want to put up on this site! I really want to go thrifting and find some jeans or jean jackets to paint on! And I could try painting on leather jackets! And I have more small paintings and much bigger paintings that I really want to work on! I hope I have a good space for working on all my paintings and crafts at our new place. I want to take new pictures of the dream catchers I’ve made and make new ones and put those up for sale on here! I need to delete my Etsy and just focus on selling on this website. I haven’t sold much on Etsy, and the 4 sales I did get were all when I first made it. I should mainly focus on one thing, which should be this site. And then getting out into my local art community more and selling in-person at markets. And I really want to make stickers to use as business cards! I have a rough draft of a couple designs drawn up, so I just need to finish them up and figure out how or where to print them. But before I can get to all the art things I need to do, I need to go to a job interview and finish some post-wedding stuff. But I’m so excited for all the art I have to come! Maybe my next blog post I’ll show my drawings for the tattoos I really want to get! I’ll have to wait on getting them, we have too much other things going on and expenses to think of. But I’m so excited for them! I can’t wait!
