When I was in college in 2017-18, a local author, Julia Sypher, asked me to illustrate the children’s book she had written. The story follows an adorable small dog who was wandering, hungry and abandoned, in Ecuador. Based on the true story of the author’s daughter finding the dog scared and hiding in a school while she was visiting the country for work and bringing her home to America to give her a warm, loving home.
